Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue and support.

What is a Street Pastor?

A Street Pastor is a Church Leader, Minister or Member with a concern for their community.

Their main role is to make themselves available to care, listen, support and help vulnerable people on the streets and in night time venues.

The street pastors work from 10.00pm to 2am on Saturday nights in the town centre of Newtown to provide assistance to anyone and to be a safe person to find help or guidance.

The Street Pastor Training Programme

Our comprehensive training programme is designed to fully equip new Street Pastors to respond to the needs of all the people that they engage on the streets.

Our training will give you a full awareness of today’s social problems including drugs and youth provision.

  • Be over 18 (no upper age limit)
  • A committed Christian in a local church
  • Have a positive reference from the Senior Leader of the church of which they have been a member for at least one year
