Open Door
Our Open Door service provides a luncheon club facility for the over 55’s in a friendly and supportive environment.
We do this by providing:
- Tea, Coffee and a 3-course meal
- Entertainment: singing, dancing, music, fun/educational talks and gentle exercise
- Outings including, a meal out, shopping or the theatre
- Input from Age Concern, the Red Cross, the Benefits Agency & Police for matters of safety
- There is also a Christian service held every 6/7 weeks.
Our objective is to ensure older people feel valued and accepted and still an important part of our community. We provide help as it is needed, and as we are able, whether physically, mentally or spiritually.
When?
Every Wednesday, from 10.30 am – 2 pm
Where?
Hope Community Church, Dolfor Road, Newtown
Cost?
We charge £3.75 for the day. But in some instances and at our discretion we help those who are in need.
Who is it for?
Anyone over the age of 55 is welcome, and can either be referred to us or can simply come along.

Our building is disabled friendly, with good accessibility and disabled toilet facilities.
